Checklist of Hutchinson 'Free Victory Gift' editions

In 1945 Hutchinson issued one million paperbacks to be given away to the Armed Forces as a Victory Gift.  The covers have a standard format, but come in various different colours, with the same title sometimes being found with different coloured covers.   These are the titles I know of, but there may well be many more.

Penguin Services Editions

The Penguin Services Editions include books from various Penguin series, including Pelicans and one Penguin Classic.  They are generally numbered in a single series of SE numbers and clearly identified as Services Editions on the cover.  However some titles have their main Penguin series number instead, and/or a standard Penguin main series cover.  In this case they are identified as Services Editions in the printing history on the rear of the title page.

Methuen Services Editions

Methuen seem to have issued Services Editions at two different times and in two different formats.  I know of only one title in the earlier format from 1944, in a light brown colour, although there are probably others.  There may also be other titles in the later, light blue, format from 1946.

Nicholson & Watson Services Editions

This is the list of Nicholson & Watson Services Editions shown on the back of the books, probably all from 1946 or possibly late 1945, although there are only four of which I have ever seen any trace.  As these four are relatively easy to find, it is possible that some or all of the others were never issued, but I'd love somebody to prove me wrong on this.
